Mark 1:17 (The Message) “Passing along the beach of Lake Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew net-fishing. Fishing was their regular work. Jesus said to them, “Come with me. I’ll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I’ll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass (fish variety)” They didn’t ask questions. They dropped their nets and followed.” itfhrp khjk; 29k; jpfjp

YOUR MISERY IS SEEN
June 12, 2010
YOUR MISERY IS SEEN– Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, The years in which we have seen evil. A godly woman who was doing God’s ministry shared her experience in the following manner. “I did not give first place to Jesus when I was young. I was just a nominal Christian. However, the Lord graciously intervened in my life and drew me towards Him. When I began to follow Him, this world branded me as ‘insane’. All my relatives began to treat me like an enemy because they could not understand the greatness of God’s love. I was left alone like an orphan. But at the same time the love of Jesus filled me with joy. Days passed by. The presence and the power of God filled me in an abundant measure. The Lord started using me mightily in the ministry. The same people who rejected me came seeking after me. Seeing the hand of God in my life everyone started honouring me. The Lord has also graciously enabled all of them to become His followers.” Dear Friend! The Bible says, “the help of man is worthless” (Psalm 108:12, 60:11). So kindly do not place your trust on any man. Instead look to God always. When you place your trust upon a man, the Lord Himself would allow you to face agony and shame through the same man and through that He will make you understand the depth of His love for you. The Almighty and impartial God with whom nothing is impossible alone can wipe away your tears (Acts 10:34). He shall make you shed tears of joy. Prayer: Loving heavenly Father, When the problems of this world are unbearable for me, help me understand that I have an Almighty God who is greater than all my problems. Give me the grace to always confess and trust that Your eyes move to and fro looking upon those with a contrite spirit. In Your immense grace and mercy give me the wisdom not to trust in the strength and power of mortal men. On this wonderful day I believe that I have an incomparable God who sees my misery and walks with me through the valley of tears letting me know the divine blessings that are in store for me. I praise and thank You with all my heart for all the goodness You have bestowed upon me. Be with me a bless me. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen. |

June 12, 2010June 12, 2010 Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary Reading 1 1 Kgs 19:19-21 as he was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen; he was following the twelfth. Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak over him. Elisha left the oxen, ran after Elijah, and said, “Please, let me kiss my father and mother goodbye, and I will follow you.” Elijah answered, “Go back! Have I done anything to you?” Elisha left him and, taking the yoke of oxen, slaughtered them; he used the plowing equipment for fuel to boil their flesh, and gave it to his people to eat. Then he left and followed Elijah as his attendant. Ps 16:1b-2a and 5, 7-8, 9-10 Keep me, O God, for in you I take refuge; I say to the LORD, “My Lord are you.” O LORD, my allotted portion and my cup, you it is who hold fast my lot. R. You are my inheritance, O Lord. I bless the LORD who counsels me; even in the night my heart exhorts me. I set the LORD ever before me; with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed. R. You are my inheritance, O Lord. Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices, my body, too, abides in confidence; Because you will not abandon my soul to the nether world, nor will you suffer your faithful one to undergo corruption.R. You are my inheritance, O Lord. Lk 2:41-51 and when he was twelve years old, they went up according to festival custom. After they had completed its days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it. Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances, but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.” And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he said to them. He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them;and his mother kept all these things in her heart |

June 11, 2010June 11, 2010 Solemnity of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Reading 1 Ez 34:11-16 I myself will look after and tend my sheep. As a shepherd tends his flock when he finds himself among his scattered sheep, so will I tend my sheep. I will rescue them from every place where they were scattered when it was cloudy and dark. I will lead them out from among the peoples and gather them from the foreign lands; I will bring them back to their own country and pasture them upon the mountains of Israel in the land’s ravines and all its inhabited places. In good pastures will I pasture them, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing ground. There they shall lie down on good grazing ground, and in rich pastures shall they be pastured on the mountains of Israel. I myself will pasture my sheep; I myself will give them rest, says the Lord GOD. The lost I will seek out, the strayed I will bring back, the injured I will bind up, the sick I will heal, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy, shepherding them rightly. Ps 23:1-3a, 3b-4, 5, 6 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose; beside restful waters he leads me; he refreshes my soul. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. He guides me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side with your rod and your staff that give me courage. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for years to come. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. For Christ, while we were still helpless, died at the appointed time for the ungodly. Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. How much more then, since we are now justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath. Indeed, if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, once reconciled, will we be saved by his life. Not only that, but we also boast of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.” |
REMINDING GOD OF HIS PROMISES
June 11, 2010 REMINDING GOD OF HIS PROMISES
“But you did say, ‘I will make sure that you are prosperous and that your descendants will be as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. No one will be able to count them because there are so many.” Gen.32:12 The Bible says that we should petition God for all our needs. God knows all our needs even before they arise and even before we ourselves became aware of them. Then why does God want us to make our petitions known to him ? Moreover the Word says that we should remind God of His promises in the Bible whenever we petition Him. Is God like human beings, forgetful ?.It is just that God wants us to be ever mindful of him for our own good.We should constantly depend on God and meditate on God’s nature and qualities, which wil help us to increase our love and affection for him. This attitude on our part towards God will strenghten our faith level and sustain us in our spiritual journey. This spiritual journey is ultimately aimed in attaining everlasting life with God. God is love and provides for all our needs at the right time.We should not worry or be anxious. We are expected to trust God and perform our duties to the best of our ability. God will prosper our efforts and giv us the success according to His promise. itfhrp khjk; 28k; jpfjp

THE SECRET OF SUCCESS
June 10, 2010THE SECRET OF SUCCESS
John 15:5 2Peter 1:8 “So don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others. With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus. Without these qualities you can’t see what’s right before you, oblivious that your old sinful life has been wiped off the books.” (The Message) Many a time so called ‘good’ christians, particularly catholics think that it is sufficient to practice devotion to Jesus and to our Blessed Mother and to the saints. This is good in itself. itfhrp khjk; 27k; jpfjp
